more speed from 32 AT
How can I get some more speed from my 32. I am running 500 Bulldogs(540 ci) (300 hrs) with 1.5.1 bravo 1 outdrives and 28 bravo 1 4 blades.I switched the exhaust to CMI elbow tops and redid the valve spings and rockers (low spring tension) at 250 hrs.Otherwise the motors are stock. My highest speed so far is 86mph at 5200rpm (1-2 ft chop,1/2 tank gas,2 people on board). My cruise speed is 50-55 mph at 3000-3200 rpm.I would like to get into the low 90 mph, but would like to keep the motors turn key.Has anybody tried other props or even nose cones on this boat, and what was the outcome.Would going to a MSD Ign and changing the rev limiter up to 5600 rpm and running bigger props acheive my goal.Would a higher rpm then the factory setting (5200) damage the motors. What speed can the hull handle? I am the only one in my area (that I know of ) with a AT.I want to be the fastest AT in the area and show people what a excellent product AT has to offer. Thanks

Re: more speed from 32 AT
i got your email chris...the next few weeks i am VERY tied up with the race boat...we never get a break!...i'll get ya pointed in the right direction...
with the above posted #'s u r somewhere in the low 6% slip range...not possible for your set up...so the goal of low 90's is going to be VERY hard to come by....but i'll get the most increase for the least amount of BS....look forward to working w/ya!

Thunderchris,i don't own a a/t but 6 wks ago broke my nose cone equipped bravo,i was running 83 w/normal load,85 lightly loaded and with new outdrive (put it on without nose cone) boat lost 2.5 mph wot. When boat was 62 mph stocker i installed nose cone and it made no difference so nose cones might be some cheap mph at the speed your running,Smitty

Re: more speed from 32 AT
Just browsing through site and saw that my old A/T is up for sale again. 97 with Boxes. When I traded boat in it had no motors and the dealer installed 502 MPI'S. The last owner that had my A/T was a young guy by the name of Steve from Stevensville, MI.
Just for the record when I owned the boat I had Blown 510,s with Boxes, standard Bravo drives 1.35 gears and motors were moved forward 1 foot for balance.. The best I saw was 5700 RPM's with 30" labbed 4 blades. That was the last time in boat because one of motors blew up on the Poker Run and traded boat in next winter.
