It's coming back big time on wakeboard and ski boats. Check Malibu and Mastercraft out. It looks awesome on these boats as an accent.

I like it as a accent color mainly in Silver like on my 87' Baja 180 Islander I am rebuilding. Checkmate still offers Silver fake accents.

Ok, I am dating myself, but I had the ElCamino with the metal flake paint job. Wish I could find the picture. It was: metal Flake Royal Blue, and red racing stripes with the SS emblem inlayed as well. One thing though, those sparkles didn't only grab attention of my pears, I was "too well" known by the local PD...

I love seeing an older boat that is kept in immaculate condition - I don't care what it is, I can appreciate what goes into preserving something like this.

That being said, I recall a 68 Firebird convertible that a friend of my brothers bought back in the late 70's. It had a white metal flake paint job on it that was checking badly and had to come off. Man, that stuff was a ***** to remove! This was way back before you had soda blasting and easy stuff like that. We had to use razor blades and about a case of 36 grit DA paper. The door and trunk jambs were just heaven!

All of the bass boats consumed the remaining stock of the metal flake...
