Default 1975 Cigarette 20 - Full Make Over @ PIER 57

Early in the summer we were approached by a fellow boater who had started a 20 Cigarette Restoration. The boat was completely stripped down to a blank canvas, ready for some paint. An entire inventory of parts / interior, and almost every nut + bolt come with the boat. As did a freshly dyno'd GM 383 / Imco Manifolds / Rebuilt TRS Trans, Etc. About the only thing missing from the project was paint, that is where Mitcher T stepped in. A simple / classic look was chosen to keep the boat true to its roots. After about a week and half at Mitcher T, the boat returned back to the Pier 57 shop for full rigging - Wiring / Plumbing / Cables, Etc. All of which happened in a 3 week period from bare hull to fully tested boat. During the rigging / testing process we were posed with a few challenges - TRS Electric Shifter failed, needed to retrofit a mechanical shifter and cable assy. The engine install was by far the most challenging part, even though it originally came out of the boat. The working area is 37" x 35" and the Engine from crank pulley to trans tail stock is 47.75"....... At the end of the day it rests at home in the bilge, but not without putting up a fight!

The boat was run at a local event this past weekend : 2013 NIOC River Shiver. She turned a lot of heads and held together in some pretty nasty water! Overall the boat runs / handles great, gets to 60-62 on the top end.

Thank You,

Alan Gordon

that boat looks really nice

let me say I am in no way shape or form anyone to give any type of advice to anyone at a business as successful as Pier 57

but I had seen that boat for sale on your site and thought "boy that will be a tough sale" simply because anyone looking to buy it would have to be scared to death thinking if Pier 57 with all of their expertise does not want to put it back together what am I getting into haha

I would imagine you were just seeing if it would sell between then and the time you cleared other projects out of the shops and I would imagine now it will sell pretty quickly because a place like Pier 57 put it together and it looks amazing

1/3 of what Phil would have charged!

Great restoration, simple boat with small block power and quick turn around!
