If you have the room for the 1/4" then go for it....

If you have the room for the 1/4" then go for it. I had a 1/2" pipe plug on a port i had to use an adapter to use the 1/8" sending unit....but if i had a 1/4" sending unit it would have been the same...

bypass the switch all together and just take the motor wires and put one to ground the other to power and see if the hatch ram works....if it clicks and nothing reverse them cause maybe you have it...
