Those brackets are shown in their original location in 2 pictures of post #28 so 2 per side. My guess is saddle tank mounting as the only other possibility would be for side panel attachment....

You are correct on those gauges. Most likely your boat came originally with the Merc 475 Turbo package which would of came with #2 Speedmaster drives but those boost gauges are not original....
