2 454 Marine 385hp engines Pulled to swap in 572's 3000.00 obo
Running 454 385hp Marine 454's. not sure of hours... bought the boat used with these 454 motors in it. good running condition, pulled to upgrade to 572's so time to let these go down the road. complete spark carb to oil pan! Use them or use as foundation for performance upgrade while still using your boat... or run'm as is. i dont know the history of the engines other than had used them for a few years with no issues in a fresh water only (havasu).

I have a carburated 454 Magnum. I called Mercury and was told. 350hp at the prop. Bottom end is 4 bolt mains, forged steel crank, forged steel rods, and forged aluminum pistons. Rectangle port heads. Aluminum intake. Stock cam has .244 duration and .300 lift. Hydraulic lifters and stamped steel rockers. Gave Mercury the serial number of my motor and they gave me all this and also the date it was manufactured.

That info is correct except the cam, it is a hydraulic flat tappet, dont know the duration or lift. The engines were rated at 365 hp flywheel, as 454 base engines go these are very fairly priced with forged internals.

I think there the good ones
jeff I am pretty sure the 87 mag was 330hp oval port heads cast crankshaft. the 88/89/90/91 454 mag. was the same as the 454 370hp of 87 and earlier that came with the trs set ups. so the 88 and up was rectangle heads forged crankshaft . differents between the 420 and the 365/370 was the gill exhaust holley 800 and maybe but not sure the cam. the 454 330hp was called the 7.4 from 88 up. I remember this from my friends baja dealership. my 88 had the 330hp 7.4 and they had two 250 sports with the mag 365hp 454 plus a friend had a sutphen87/88 with trs 454 370hp way back then. I will tell the guy with the sutphen he is still looking for motors. JEFF I tried very had to get him to buy yours last year the 496s they were sweet. later art ps is that for the pair I take it 3000gs. since they should be gone threw.

I left the flat tappet part out cause I thought that solid lifters and hydraulic lifters were all flat tappet unless they were rollers. Correct me if I'm wrong. All I know is I received all my info from Mercury via a phone call.
