(TYPHOON qoute) "Ever thought of lowering the motor and using a short drive shaft? "
i thought all the svl / sv guys ran a jackshaft / driveline set up for balance, in fact i would have bet on that

with the bottom being 24 deg, and the prop shaft limited to 1/2 below, the box creates to much outdrive drag therebye scrubbing speed. also became more sensitive to positive trim. without the box the hull deflects the water freeing up drag. its amazing what a difference 1/2 in spacer makes.

No it says creates more drive drag, with the drive having to be a half inch below the bottom on a box in actuality it's in the water deeper then it is on the transom because the water breaks off the boat the only way a box works better is it there's no drive height restriction. If you remember at one time there was not a restriction and that's why everybody was putting boxes on the super vee's. With the rule change in actuality the drive on the transom is more efficient with less slip then on a box a half inch below the bottom

Got it. May have issues getting on plane in ruff water out of a milling circle. That's what testing is for LOL. Can you run an external water pick up in SBI or does the drive need to pick up the water?
