Default #6 drive on a 30'

Anyone know if there ever was a Activator/Rage built with a #6 drive out back?

in the land down under they run 6 and 8s often paired with a splitter box to a huge 1500hp or more engine on 21-25 foot boats

So true, I forgot about the 32s, really interest in how a 30 would run with one. 700sci package with the M6 to be exact

Had one of the 32s with a wet sump 6. I don't recall hearing of one on a 30

I believe all five 32s now have #6 drives, dry sump except for Slim.
Vern G. and I decided to just leave it wet sump for the reliability as there would be little speed gain.

I wouldn't think one would need/want a #6 on the 30; maybe call Mark S. at Rage to confirm.

Kinda thought the same thing, 30 not quite big enough to benefit the #6. the reason I asked is I'm interested in the 700 SCI which comes with the #6 as a package. Doesn't appear that Mercury offers the motor on its own. Thanks for your input. Slim Shady, my favorite Activator, glad to here she's still throwing a rooster !

Actually now with the power ratios that an imco scx can handle and the weight of the boat you could use that and be just as reliable and the attitude of the boat would handle better, the 6 and the trans were alot of weight. louie ran his with a little less power and an XR and was as fast as the others and carried the boat very level in rough water. even on the 32 a six was overkill.

With 700 HP I figured the Imco would be fine. It's the fact that I don't see the 700 sci sold motor only,I see the 600 sci engine only but I haven't talked to Mercury yet to verify the 700 is a package deal
