You can EASILY pull a 37AT with a full load on an aluminum trailer with a single rear wheel truck. I would advise going to at least an 8 inch wide wheel, and make sure you have 3000+ lb rated wheels and 3000 lb rated tires (E-Load Range). The longer the wheel base, the better. So long bed and crew cab helps. Rich has a Chevy 2500 shortbed-crew cab. My dually is a long bed-crew cab. While a single rear wheel vehicle is more convenient, there is NO comparison to towing with a dually.
Does Rich use 4wd pulling his boat up the gravel driveway next to his shop? Years ago, I backed my boat down at Lake Anna (Christopher Run, gravel) and it dragged my truck, with the brakes locked, down to the concrete ramp. If I had Rich's boat on the back of my truck, going up that hill by his shop, I'd be at the bottom in no time.

(Sydwayz posting again)
Aaron, Rich said yeah he does use 4WD just to make sure there was no wheel spin.

You should have seen me pulling my boat up that STEEP-A$S hill at the Sportsman! I did it twice with the Avalanche, once in 4-High, and once in 4-Low. Its actually an alright ramp over there, even though its chip-n-tar, but its not steep and its plenty long.

So now I know why my AT was slower than everyone else's!!! That thing weighed nearly 15,000 Lb on a steel MYCO.

I towed the boat with a Ford Dually 4X4. Would not recommend anything less if you tow long distances. It is much more stable in strong crosswinds and passing, being passed by, semi trucks.

The truck was a dog, but it was much better after I put that "Diablo" chip in it

As far as the car, I do not have to drive in China. I have a driver

Kevin be careful with the Diablo tuner. On highest setting it was lifting heads. It is ok if you have a turbo back exhaust and gauges to moniter the EGT's. Some bad press on WWW.dieselstop.com Jeff

I believe that. It was a three position chip and we ran it in the middle setting. The performance was incredible in the high setting. I was more worried about the transmission than the engine. A couple of times during a high throttle shift pulling the boat, you could feel it slipping Not good.

We sold the truck shortly after the boat.
