Don't forget my $4K per year dry storage bill because my ocean front townhouse has no suitable parking.

Maybe I should take up golf!
Checking in from Key West.

Boat show was a blast. The AT's looked ok - not as many paint runs as the Bayliners -

Just kidding - they were beautiful.
Mac - Brian did show the HRPA guys here the new optional kennel and dog feeders on the 37. Forget 496's - toss the dog overboard w/ a rope and MUSH!!!!

Just kidding again!! Jush did the duval kral. Jon barfed, skotter when home to drink sum ore.
I think Natiprops has a buztoo

Scooter has returned with a few more bar stories...

Mack - go with the blue motors. What you have on a larger boat will disappoint you in my opinion. the 525's are the only way to go since they typcially get 540-560hp which is WAY over what any HO and headers are going to give you. I know you want cruise and control on the rough stuff and I don't think the HO will do the 37 justice for you in our water. If we river or lake boated I would not suggest blue motors but on the CB and Atlantic, we need it.

BTW - this is a pic of BillR taking off from Key West. As soon as the wheels of the plane left the ground the island came nearly 2 feet out of the ocean and Duvall Street erupted in applause. Oh, and the scooter was thankful too.

Just kidding Bill!

I came to the same conclusion after riding Clark's boat in some BIG water last weekend.

Stay tuned!

Mine has 496HOs, and its definitely not a dog. In the serious $hit, you are not running more than 45-60mph, and any of the power packages will do that. We were catching, running with and PASSING, bigger boats with bigger power/drives on the Chicago Poker Run. The big picture with Bob Zubik's 42' Fountain w/ 525EFIs in Powerboat Magazine, had me a mile or so behind him. We caught him, and ran with, and then ahead of him on the way back to East Chicago, and I distinctly remember passing the Cigarette 39TG with 700SCis and NXT1 drives. They are both great boats, but we did not need power close to what they had in order to run with/ahead of them on that run. That was BRUTAL water.

Dude. The 42 beek boat boat is a like a 37 AT when you look at the water line length and the HO's, no matter what size boat, can hold up to a TG with 700's on any water if the driver wants to excercise the demons in the 700's.

If I misunderstood your point and what you are referring to is ride on the rough water I apologize. As you know, cause you've never invited me, I've not ridden a 37AT on "rough" water but I have heard good things! If Macklin likes the ride of the AT I know he has some good comparison boats and also know that he'll make a good call on his next toy. Can't wait to hear more about it Mack!

My post was meant about comfort at speed. I was comfortable running the AT from 45-60mph (and so was my 66 year old father who was aboard) for the majority of the run, and when the helicopters were overhead, we were running in the upper 70s. The 39TG w/ 700s was driven by Tim G. of Cigarette as it was the factory entry. We were running side/side with the OSO PowerPlay which is 11,000 lbs.

So, I know the other boats with bigger power COULD have run faster, but they did not given the conditions. The only boat that was REALLY running hard was the 47 OuterLimits with Mike Fiore aboard himself. The Formula and Fountain factory entries layed into the sticks quite a bit too, but again, there is a difference between a privateer and a factory entry.
