If I could find an AT that really caught my eye during the search, I would not hesitate for a second to purchase. But as the handling aspect, are these two boats similiar to anyone who has some seat time?
BAJA IS AN ENTRY LEVEL BOAT FOR THE SERIOUS PERFORMANCE BOATER.
THE 28 ACTIVE IS AN OUT OF THE FACTORY PERFORMANCE BOAT WITH A GREAT BLUE WATER RIDE,THE BIGGEST COCKPIT AROUND FOR A 28,AND A NICE CABIN THAT IS ALSO BIGGER THAN ANY OF THE COMPETITION.
iF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A LATE MODEL 28 ACTIVE/525/BRAVO XR WITH LOW HOURS I HAVE ONE COMING IN ON TRADE.
THE PRICING WILL BE VERY COMPETITIVE FOR A WINTER SALE.

This sounds like an "entry level" saleman highjacking a serious powerboaters inquiry.

Sounds like the truth to me!

Seriously, until you ride in an AT28 in rough stuff and the same water in a 25' Baja you can't imagine the difference! The ride @65-70 in 2 fters in my AT28 is better than any boat under 30 that I've ever been in; and I'm guessing anything I haven't. You can't compare the ride. BUT, if you want a smooth water boat & to spend 30% less, and mass produced vs. custom offshore doesn't matter, then the Baja is a good choice.
BTW, the cabin in my AT28 is big & roomy; even has a galley with a ss sink & microwave, enclosed head and decent v-berth.
