28 party cat speeds
I kinda like the party cats and was wondering How fast a 28' would be with a 502 415hp or say a procharged 800 hp motor. How about the ride are they dry or lots of spray? Who has insurance and what are the premiums? Thanks Greg

We have a 27 Party Cat with a 525 in it - just got 80mph last weekend on speedo which is pretty accurate with 4 adults on board - 28 is just a hair slower - due to aerodynamics - it is the same bottom - very dry ride - hope that helps - you can see pics at www.tntwatersports.com if you want to see it.

How fast you want to go and how much you are willing to pay for insurance is all relative. I've riden on mtrantums 27 and it screams! They also have the same boat with a 496 HO if insurance gets you.

I like them, I looked at them before I got my 32, the only thing I dont like is if you drive into a storm there is little to no protection for the wife and kids. Other then that they ride excellent on most waters and handle great.

I have a 1999 Model SPORTCAT with pair of 502's
Stock motors, drives and props.
Average speed with bravo 1 28's was 84-85 half loaded
Best speed with out of box--non worked--Hydro 27's was 93.7
Have not done anything since that last run, and not planning on it
i have insurance with State Farm and my premuims are very reasonable.
Dry ride, spray will happen on windy choppy days. Everycat will prodoce bow spray if running slow and flat. Air it out and all is good

Just curious...a buddy of mine's looking at a 2000 28 Party Cat with a 500HP. What would be an honest price? It's got 70 hrs. and is like new. What could he expect to pay for insurance on this boat? Also, any input on speeds/performance would be appreciated.

Hey Havasu folks, anyone know this boat? The ad says it's in Phoenix, but it's supposed to be sitting at Magic Powerboats Marine in Havasu. Anyone know the story behind it and/or anything else about it? Is it clean, taken care of, etc., etc., etc.??? Any input is appreciated!

A buddy of mine has a 98 PC 28 with a 502 and Bravo 3. Motor is pretty much stock except for Imco exhaust. I think the best he has seen is 60. The boats have a ton of room compared to a lot of other 28 deckboats since the back seat is on top of the engine versus in front of it and losing 5 feet of your boat. I think 500HP in a 28 would be good. Deano is selling one on HOTBOAT with a bunch of HP for under $50k
I have a 22' PC with a 454 and best speed for me is 50.
