Bernie, I know the boat and there's no doubt it's gorgeous!!

But, , unless you saw it on GPS for yourself I doubt that boat runs 84 mph. Magnum Mark has the same boat, it's MUCH lighter (8-9K lbs), with same power and it runs low eighties and it doesn't have a cabin or cockpit and it's on a full stagger. I know this because I ran with him twice this summer.

A nother good friend (Apache Warrior) had one with the same amount of power and drives as Tweat, but it was a half stagger, and it ran upper 70's. Maybe 84 on the water speedo but I doubt on GPS?????

BTW, not trying to stir up anything, just saying.....

Nice meeting and talking with you in Pt. Pleasant.

It was definitely cool to see both of our boats parked together out in Patchogue and on the course!

Had a great time running the 47 Apache at Pt Pleasant......that is one long deck to look over.

Apache was not even around when I raced, it was still a year or so after me when it first showed up on the Squadron XII boat as a name only.

Bobby and I of course, go way back and it was nice to spend some time together with my old friends again. Since we both love to build these kind of monsters.....ya never know what might show up in the future......we love wave crushers, real open ocean running and Don Aronow designs, but we both feel that we are in a new era with technology and it hasn't been exploited to it's fullest yet.

But a big thanks, to all the Apache fans who made me feel so welcome at Pt Pleasant, I hope to see you all again sometime.

Here is a shot of the two old guys back in 1979 at the Bushmills race in California.

I am in the Top Banana and Boby Saccenti is in the Ajac Hawk, the first ever Top Gun from Cigarette.

I came in first and he was only a minute behind in second.

I'm gonna get my pics together, and I will post the restorations in a new thread. Don't want to hijack this one.

Jamie at Lakeside Restorations did the 2005-2006 projects, which included the Konrads.

Eric at Mid Coast Performance Marine did the 2006-2007 projects, which included the JC Performance motors.
