Re: leaning issue again!
Which side does he think is causing the problem port or starboard or combination of both? Mine to leans slightly to the port side always they told me it was prop torque.(drives me nuts) But with wind hitting on the port side it is 100 times worse. Hope you get it fixed.

Re: leaning issue again!
1) A true deep vee is greatly effected by wind. My 36 will lean against the wind very easy. I have been in some really strong coastal winds that require a lot of tab.
2) Yes you will see it more in single engine boats from torque steer. Add more HP and it will get worse.
3) They will even lean a little tied up to a dock with a strong current.
4) The way you load your boat and the use of tabs are your best defense.
5) Do not mess with the hook. This has been talked about for years and I see no evidence that it has anything to do with a lean over condition at all. It mainly helps get the boat on plane and you are not going to see anything except a thinner wallet if you remove it.
It is just a part of boating in my opinion, I except it, live with it and correct the attitude of the boat as needed.

Re: leaning issue again!
Dock,
Does yours lean both ways in the wind? Mine doesn't.
As for torque streer this was doing it with the 6.2 merc in it. And it didn't get any worse when I added the 502 its just the same.
As for weight issue it did this before I ever added anything else to the boat. No extra anything and only me in the boat and I'm 230 lbs.

Re: leaning issue again!
Our 24' Outlaw leaned hard to the port side when we'd air it out (Which was most of the time we ran it!! ). I chalked it up to prop torque and just dropped a bit more tab on the port side if it was a bumpy day.

Maybe the torque steer overcomes the lean from one direction on your boat?
Boats are greatly effected by both wind and balance of weight.

Russ,
I hope you don't mind me sticking my 2 cents in.
Our 30' Y2k's don't have a leaning problem with the smaller motors, such as the 496 HO. The hull only goes 74 mph.
When we put a 525, or 600sci in one, it gets the port lean. We had Scott from Mercury Racing helping us dial in Superbabi which has the 600sci. The leaning issue was taken care of as soon as we switched to the 5 blade left hand prop. The boat ran perfectly level in all winds and water conditions.
Fountain Powerboats also had the leaning issues with their 29', they also switched to left hand props to solve the problem.
