sounds like some big gains to me, but I would excpect to trade a little reliability for performance, Sounds like pretty good ratios to me

I cant see that, but who knows, my old 25 was good to see its best of 68.7 gps with a 502 mag w/ ecu upgrade, CMI's, and K&N running a 23" mirage plus at 5,000

Thanks, Liquid asset. That ties pretty much up with where my 25 is (2miles slower) without the CMI´s. As the K&N doesn´t do anything for the performance (same goes for removing turbolators on 496´s) it must be the ECU and CMI advantage. Definitely worth having but at around 4-5000 $ that almost makes a Raylar 103 seem like really good value.
As this is really a Raylar thread - I will add that what concerns me is that I am pulling 525 hp out of a block that is maybe not going to last running flat out at all the poker runs next year. If I buy a HP525, I get to sell the healthy 496 that I take out, and the mercury product is, by all accounts, going to survive fast WOT recreational usage easy! Oh yeah, and there is something blue under my motor hatch.............

@ 272 owners - I am in contact with the swedish 496 owner - hope to answer your questions soon

496 power
8-10 mph gain with single power in a v-bottom, that's pretty good.

What would happen with Raylar kits on twin 496 ho's in a 28 Daytona cat that currently runs 90 mph?

Two Eliminator 30's now with Raylar 525HP kits and both are over 100mph with the right props and cavatation plates.

They were bought in march or april of 05. I tighten them by feel to around 15 foot lbs. I have used different versions of locking rocker nuts on at least 50 different motors Ive built and other than this motor I have only had a nut crack once in the past (It was a cheap imported looking harland- sharp). I ended up switching all the rocker nuts to arp's and haven't had any more breakage in 30 hours of run time,Smitty
I'm curious where the rocker nuts that youv'e had break cracked at,I have had the same prob with the comp cams nuts I tried early this summer. No problems since switching to arp's,Smitty

Articfriends:

Our rocker lock down nuts are are own special AFN design whcih is a net zero adjustment type like the factory stock units, nothing like conventional polylocks. We had a small quanity show up without the champfer at the bottom of the threads and when some of these were over torqued past the 120 inch pounds or 10 ft/lbs specified, there were a small quantity that split and loosen. We have recalled and replaced these nuts to prevent the overtightening crack possibility.
