Default windlass on a 38 special

Does any one have mounted a windlass on a 38 and if so how did you do it. To pull out the anchor form the locker is a royal pain

I purchased the 442 stainless steel plate and installed it on my 38. I then made a plate to mount the windlass on. It works great!

Here is the link to my 38. It is currently for sale.

There is a pic of the bow that will give you a good idea of how it looks.
I might be able to come up with some more pics but right now that is all I have.

Thanks for your link. I used to live off Hillsborough Ave just down from Pipers Marine when it was just a 2 lane road.

I see the bow of you boat and it look good with the SS plate. If you get a chance can you take a few pictures of the windlass setup from inside the anchor locker? Good luck with the sale, it's a good price.

Thanks... I will see what I can do to get some pics.

I live right down the street from Pipers on the Bay. He has done some work for me. He is also in the OPBA so we do some Poker Runs together.

I like the way the windlass is set up in my 442 better so I will try and get pics of that one. It will fit in the anchor locker of the 38. I went a little overboard on the 38 and could have saved some money and weight. Oh well you live and learn.
