most times yes, but if i have too much wetted surface, and cant get the boat up out of the water (too much trim still doesnt help) i might not loose much if i truely can get the boat out of the water more. i guess the best way is to try my 28's (with cup) and see what the boat does. Im hoping i can lab them and get in the 5400 range.

I got out there and forgot the prop wrench

I had already switched the 26's to out, and i actually picked up rpms. i lost 1 mph top end. 5600 rpms at 73.

Well got the 28's out, and MAN did it kill performance!!

The most I could get out of it was 4600 rpms at 68mph.

Previously I ran the labbed 26's at 5600 @ 74.

the 28's are stock and the 26's are labbed. From 26's to 28's i should drop about 400 rpms, then the 26's are labbed, so i should lose another 300. which would put me around 4900. but i figure this knocked me out of my horsepower band and killed performance. midrange sucked bad, and it took it a lot longer to get to WOT.

I dont know what the next step is. Ill probably load the boat up with a bunch of people and fuel and see where it spins to.

I also have a pair of 3 blades i want to try. Ive got the lower "x" so its worth a shot for a little on the top.

The one thing i noticed though was my prop slipped dropped into a pretty good range. if i could only figure out how to do that with the 26's ill get those last couple of mph.
