I ve had a 24 ol 502 with cmi's ecu, k&n, ran 66, 99 25 same motor and mods ran 68.7, both gps, both test at lake travis in summer, 2 men no gear, low fuel

I agree,radar over water has been proven to be very inaccurate in most cases. Any decent GPS can give you a accurate speed within a mph if you mantain your top speed for long enough for it to catch up. I have clocked so many stock Bajas with my gps while running along side them that claim to run high 60's/low 70's that are only running low 60's that I have lost count.When GPS has been compared to radar shot from the boat to a fixed object (the only way I belive it to being close to accurate) it has been found to be within 1 mph,Smitty

I agree. I would definitely doubt the copīs radar before I doubt a GPS reading. Global Positioning System canīt, by definition, give a continuous false reading. Isolated readings can be wrong, but not continuous ones. The recall on my Livorsi digital GPS will give me occasionally a "stray" of 120 mph, but mostly its right on the money.
