Has anyone seen performance numbers on the new 26 outlaw with the 600? I heard the 525efi ran 74-76 on gps.

I don't think the 26 will run those speeds on a 525. I'd bet closer to high 60.

Well since the 25 with a 496 ran high 60's why not?

If the bottom is tweaked like the 35, then I would say low 70's with the 525.

I'd say mid 70's would probably be about right with a 525.

The 74-76 on gps was fairly official. What about the 600? think it will break the 80 mph barrier? And can someone tell me why there are almost no 25 outlaws out there with hp500's or 500 efi's ? I knowthey weren't available the last few years but they were from -what- 99-2003 or 2004?
What is the deal?

I think the reason for few 25 Outlaws with HP500's is because of the cost. It was like a 10K upcharge which is a joke.

....And you're talking about getting in the price range
where you could get a 29 o/l that would run those
speeds with much better ease.

A 26 o/l w/600's is gonna run probably over 100k,
you could find a year or two old 30 w/HO's in that
price range thats going to perform like a 26 w/600's,
and do it with a better ride.

I think a 26 with a 600 would be pretty sweet, but cost wise, I would agree with the above that I would rather have a used 30. I find it odd that there was so much buzz about the 26 prior to its release, now that it is out, I only know of one person that has purchased one. He traded a 245 in on it and has been happy with the 496HO. Although he paid no where near it, the sticker on the boat with SST and several options was reported to be right at 90 grand with the HO motor (Not sure if that is accurate, just what I was told). I can imagine with a 525 that price tag will top 100 easily and with a 600, forget it.

I have heard some folks say that they don't have the water to run a larger boat or the means to tow or store a larger boat, but for that kind of coin, I can think of a few that I would rather have.

As far as speed, most figures for a 26 with the 496HO are in the 64-66 mph range depending on what boat test you read. I don't know if an extra 175hp will get you to 80, sure would be sweet though.
