My buddy has one and loves it. Ton of room. it's okay for tubing but forget skiing. It's going to burn alot of fuel doing that because your tabs are going to be buried planing off. Buy a ski boat if that's going to be your main function.

They are a GREAT boat. I had a 272 closed bow and a friend on Lake Norman had the islander version and they loved it.
You get the room and the ride and a big boat but it is not too big to still enjoy water sports behind.
What surprised me was that when he sold it he got a lot more money then I thought he would and it sold FAST. There is a high demand for that boat.

I have a 1999 272 Islader LOVE IT!!! Plenty of room.Kids tube and boarded behind it all day today, but your are right with the tabs down and trim in the 18 mph plane speed burns the gas. I have a 496HO in mine and run 61 on GPS with full fuel load and a family of four. Good luck finding one there are not a lot out there!
