was out for A long ride and then stopped to talk and meet up with friends, shut engines down and went to re-start 20 min later went to start and engines acted like we were out of gas. waited about an hour and a half then got one to fire up and the other would not. drove on one engine for 10 min and opened gas filler and got engine to start, sounds like i had a vapor lock but then ran fine and when we got to the no wake the engine that wouldn't start over heated. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

How long has it been since you replaced the impellers in your sea water pumps.
When you change them make sure that all the ears of the impeller are there. If not you should find them at the inlet end of the engine oil cooler. While you have the end off the oil cooler it is a good time to clean out the tubes also. ( carefully )
Your starting problem does sound like vapor lock. ( I am a carb guy )

Do you have a fuel pump mounted on your sea pump?
If not, you needs Merc pump upgrade kit.
they eliminated the boost pump on a few engines and most have vapor lock issues.
I have done several here at the shop, and all have cured the problem.
