Default Problem with 29 outlaw props

Well I had on before 24P Bravo 1's with my 29 Outlaw with the twin 385hp 454's...
I was able to pull about 5000 RPMS before Which what these engines are rated at but I was only doing about 66-67 mph...
Someone had told me that moving up to the 26P Bravo 1's would do the trick...
DEF not right! I just bought a set of 26P Bravo 1's (which are for sale now) and just got back from the lake...was Barely able to pull 4000 RPM's and couldn't even hardly get to 60mph trimmed and everything...

Need some help guys...What Do I do now...I've seen some guys runnin' 25P Labbed 3 Blade Mirage's and pulling about 72-73 On same boat that I have...Is that what I need?

Thanks any help is appreciated!

Were your 24P Bravo 1s labbed?

You might try labbing the 26P Bravo1s, and having them pitched to 25ish.

If you are running 5000 RPMs, with your current props; you are pretty much right on target. You may not have any more speed to squeeze out, without lightening your load; friends, fuel, and gear.

Go to the prop threads and ask either Julie at Throttle Up or Brett at BBlades. Both are more than willing to help and both have excellent information.

Donny,

With 454's I don't think you will see any higher speeds. I have a friend that had a 29 with the same power and his was a 65 MPH boat.

You always want to prop your boat so that it will spin the props up to the maximum RPM range of the engine. If you are at 5000 now then you are there.

You can have some of the shops look at yours and maybe some cup will reduce slip giving you a MPH or two more.

Just always remember that if you are spinning a prop at the max RPM then you probably cannot spin a larger prop without adding more horsepower.

As mentioned call Brett or Julie and they can give you some good sound advice.

Goos luck

I rountinely ran 72 with mine on 3 blade 25's. They are not the best out of the hole but def the best for top end. BTW, I had mags also. Straight 7.4's would be a 65 mph boat.

Yeah I think I need to buy a handheld GPS as well just to see if my speedo is accurate or not as well..I had to hookup an external pickup speedo to the boat since the factory one took a crap and I don't know how accurate it is...But looks like for right now i'm gonna look for some 25P Mirage Plus's any of you looking for any 26P Bravo 1's let me know...$650

oh yeah whats a inexpensive handheld gps?
