Getting rid of some of the smaller Baja's could work against them. Many people start out in the smaller ones and work up. The best thing about Baja is the quality from large down to the smallest boat. They also have the best bang for the buck.
As a prospective buyer, I hate to hear such a great company getting trashed. If it ain't broke don't fix it!

It was tough to pick 10.
Prior to the press release, I would've guessed he'd keep 3 or 4 of the 19-27' islanders/perf series
(not familiar enough with these two series to guess on specifics)
and 2 or 3 of the Outlaw series
(since the 27 and 29 fevers were dropped would definitely bet the 26 will stay)
Possibly the 23 and maybe the 30?
The 30 Outlaw is too big for a single, and the same size as his new 33, so not sure how that will play out.
I doubt he'll keep the 35 as your getting into a pretty serious offshore boat that may start to dilute his 35 & 38 Lightnings.
(Not for flat water speed, but for rough water comfort and performance)
Who knows...

This has been my whole problem with the buyout. Eliminating the smaller models.
In the area I live in, most of the new baja's sold are in the 25 ft under catergory. So ultimately the smaller dealers in my area going to be greatly affected. They definitley can not take on Fountain as a new line because there is not really a market nor the money for fountains larger more expensive line.
The larger boats are generally being bought used and are several years older.
If you looked at the dealers in my area, majority of their boats are under 30ft. Anything 30 and over are usually leftover models.

The 405 was gone any way even under Baja. That is the boat that in my opinion started all of this and pushed Brunswick to sell.
It has been completely redesigned from what I understand and will be known as the 415.
From what I am told this is one mold that Reggie did buy and is excited about.
I'm pretty sure you can expect to see the 415 later in the year with a much updated Fountain interior in the cuddy.

Yup, The Pachanga 22.........
I am working on securing the rights to hull #1.... for a boat that doesn't exist. LOL, they are tooling the deck now. The only issue I have is they will not put a 525 in it. This will be the new Hammer X bottom.

Reggie, you had better be reading this thread! There sure are some great product combinations being put together. I read one, and think "yeah that makes alot of sense" and get to the next and have to review my judgement.
I can well imagine that getting rid of the smaller boats (however good) is a no-brainer. They are alot of handling work, the same amount of paperwork, and sales pitch for less margin. Baja differs from other mass boatbuilder through its custom options of colour and trim, and this starts to make more sense as a boat gets into the 23- 24 foot 50k range.
The 20 Outlaw, both the present one and its predecessor, together with the Bandit, and Hammer, have probably brought many of the owners of much bigger models into the family, but the whole boat business has grown up, too (and the vehicles that pull the trailers). These days it would seem like 23 and 26 foot models are still considered starter boats, and stock power on an affordable Bravo drive runs to 600 reliable horsepower.
Times have changed.
