How much power would it take to get one of these to run 70 or 75? There's one advertised locally with a 330 and a Bravo.

I would think 500 to 550 should get you there!!!!

I had a 87 265 and it was a awesome boat, handled the rough very well.. I had a 454mag with the alpha drive it had 200 hrs on it when I bought it and 800 on it when I sold it.. I ran the dog crap out of it and had absolutely 0 problems with the alpha drive.. I loved to run it hard in the rough water too.. Best laid out 26 foot boat on the water IMO.. too much room in th cockpit and it sleeps 4 with ease.. I could take 8 people out on any given day and have a blast..

Just get it surveyed before you pull the trigger, if it checks out 8 grand is a great buy on that boat!!!!!

I have a 89 23'5 force with roughly 500hp turning a gps 70mph. I would say 550hp at least to see a true 70 out of that size boat.
