I'm not a pro at this, so someone correct me if I'm wrong. (sorry to but in on your board too).
The 502 mpi, also known as the 502 mag, is a Multi Port Injected motor rated at 415hp.
The 502 efi, also known as the HP 500, is a Tuned Port Injected motor rated at 480hp.
I think that's right? Anyone?

uhhh not sure bout that one. The efi was electronic fuel injection, from 92 -95? Maybe??? The switched to multi port injection 1996 ---???
Those are the differences in my understanding. I am sure I am wrong....... but I do know one is NOT the 500 efi.

I have seen the HP 500 referred to as the EFI on several occasions on the board. If you look on the top of them they even say "EFI".
I realize this would not apply to the older non fuel injected units.
But people do call the new ones EFIs.

yeah they call em 500 efi's. 502 efi's are another story.
"500's" usually refer to the Carbed version.
"500 efi's" are "500 efi's", not 502 efi's, these also say it in the top after MAGNUM
