IF A 496 BOAT IS $ 199 K AND THE 525 PACKAGE ONLY $ 30 K MORE FOR THE PAIR WHY IS THERE SO MUCH MORE OF A MARK UP ? IN THIS ECONOMY. YOU WOULD BE BETTER OFF BUYING THE 496'S AND THEN PULLING THEM OUT AND PUTTING IN BIGER POWER OR DO A RAYLAR KIT ON BOTH MOTOR'S FOR $ 20 K AND SPEND THE $2 TO $3 K FOR THE UPGRADE XR DRIVE'S WITH THE 496 SO WHEN YOU UPGRADE THE POWER YOU ARE GOOD TO GO . EITHER WAY IT LOOK'S LIKE IT SHOULD BE A $ 30 K DIFFRNCE IN PRICE BETWEEN THE 2 MOTOR PACKAGE'S .
UNLESS THAT $ 280 K IS MSRP AND YOU HAVE TO BE TALKED DOWN TO $ 230 K OR LESS .

Mike,
With the 525 boat there are more standard features such as a class A faired and finished engine room, a Fully Infused hull, and a non-wood stringer system. By the way I am not trying to sound like a prick, but the pricing sheet that I got from Mercury shows my cost to be alot more than 30k for the pair.

THAT'S GOOD NEW'S I DIDNT KNOW THERE WAS A DIFFRENT BUILD PROCESS ON THE 2 DIFFRENT BOAT'S BUT IM GLAD YOU POINTED THAT OUT . THE 525 BOAT WILL BE ALOT LIGHTER THEN THE 496 BOAT .
AS FAR AS OEM PRICING . THE LAST TIME I LOOKED AT THE SHEET 496HO PACKAGE WAS AROUND $ 20K AND THE 525 PACKAGE WAS AROUND $33 K A PEICE. MAYBE THE PRICE WHENT UP SOME BUT IT CANT BE THAT MUCH .
BUT WITH THE EXTRA WORK AND LAYUP THAT YOUR DOING TO THE BOAT WILL HELP JUSTIFY THE PRICE . SO WHAT SPEED DO YOU THINK WITH TWIN 496HO'S STAG WITH THE HEAVY LAYUP ?,

THANK'S
MIKE

Dude, please stop claiming you have some guy who invented positive lift hulls, unless he was designing airplanes back in the 1930's its not the guy!!! Here is a picture of positive lift step hull on a float plane from 1934

If you want to say he "improved" positive lift step hulls I can dig it, but anything else is a false claim.

Well I got a phone call last night from one of the partners that was from Baja Marine involved with this project. There is a good chance that XT-Innovations could be involved with designing, and building the interiors for them?
