Default 140mph

by letting the word go around this message board for a while!

I said 71 on the speedo! in reality it was probably doing 65 or 66mph, just like a hammer would with that power.

Brad,

Are you saying that your boat has only done 71?

My buddy has a 22 Scarab with a warmed over SBC. It is around 390 hp and hits 70.

Default I doubt it!

I just got the desk top dyno going last night. I used the closest shelf components to duplicate my engine and it is within 10hp! (Just a coincidence????).

Any videos of the boat Brad....man I'd love to see some footage of that sucker tearing up the water.

Default We'll

have to get Liquid or some of his friends to handle the camera. When I get the new blower on and running good, we'll do it. I'd like to see it too!

I'll tell you what....I'd hate to be the poor sucker that says "OH this'll be no problem....that's a 70mph boat"

Man forget onboard camera, the thing would probably fly right out of his hands haha. I'd tell him to stand on land and tell the other boaters to get the heck out of the way while you make a 100+ pass. I'll tell you, that has got to be the most impressive Hammer I have ever seen. I love the big boats, but I love the design and look of the Hammer and especially one that might see 140, thats just flat out AWESOME!

Default Yea, I noticed!

I am hoping to get the major parts by friday. Already have the carbs. I don't expect any serious gains here, just minor ones. The carbs are very tunable and come from the factory with blower calibration. The blower is larger, so hopefully, it won't have to be spun so fast to make power and the exhaust should be less of an issue.

Seems on the desk top dyno, the size of the blower, once you start with something reasonable sized, doesn't make much difference. i.e., once there is 400cfm of flow, going to a 14-71 didn't seem to make all that much difference. Absolute boost made quite a difference. Maybe when the boost gets up there, it would. Heads appear to be where it's at!
