Default My new(ish) 88 force 265

Hey guys/gals new member here from Michigan used the forms to do a bit of research before i made my purchase of a 88 force 265.ive wanted a bigger boat 24ft is boat but got a great deal on this and couldn't pass it up. I picked up the dual 350 version of it and so far im pretty impressed (altho ive only been on the water once for a test drive) i have check it for the normal rot and the guy i bought it off of (worked at a marina) showed me the only spot in the transom it had a small spot of rot on the back side of the seat. the cuddy was in almost perfect condition motors run strong and the out drives are good. the port side motor needs the shift cable replaced (wont go into reverse) but other then that shes in over all great condition for a 24 year old boat. Anything i should look for/do/fix on these boats i know i need to hook the fridge back up.. not sure where to plug it in.. it has the teak swim deck still and needs some oil teak oil for sure. Thoughts opinions anything helps still very much learning about this boat and would welcome any and all help. pics attached

bringing her home

Looks to be in pretty good shape to me. Hopefully you got it for a song, and as with any used toy, do all the basic maintenance. Plugs, wires, dizzys, oil, check the starters and check the alternators for voltage. Check the bilge pumps and bellows, drive oil etc. Good luck!

well shes got 640 hours on one motor and 633 on the other. whats the normal voltage for these? after it was all said and done i paid $6000 cash and traded my 81 crestliner crusader 775 (305 small block) for it everything i seen i felt as if i got a good deal. everyone i found went for 12-15k and all single motors. some in worse condition too. but yup im taken her out wednesday supposed to be nice then after that winterizing her oil plugs wires cap rotor antifreeze dump outdrive oil etc.

Good looking classic Baja there. Where at in Michigan?

Is it just me or are both props turning right?

Depending on what prarts you need, they may be pretty hard to find. I have had to make alot of things for my boat.

That was my buddy Shanes boat, he took care of it and it was a very reliable turn key boat for him, been on it a few times myself and the boat is much cleaner then 90% of them out there in the year range, seemed to be dry that I saw as far as rot as he knows I would have busted his ass after what I went through on my 320....

Props both spin RH direction on most twin alpha boats....rarely you will find RH/LH alphas..

I will see if I have anymore pics of it here for ya...

The only thing ive found that he may have not even known about due to storing it in that marina is the cuddy vent leaks and let water into the head liner so i covered it until i can get the parking situation figured out to take it out and re seal it. i drove home from there on Saturday and it rained hard all the way back to Flint (about a 4 hour drive). got in the cuddy and it was wet on the headliner. no biggie tho. (also need to figure out how to check the trailer breaks didn't seem like i had much help stopping lol)
