Engine compartment paint
Hi guys,
I have a 2000 Baja 272 where I am about to swap out the 7.4 MPI for a 502 Mag MPI. The boat is in really good condition, except I feel the engine compartment needs to be touched up. The new engine is going to look new, and the paint in the engine compartment is flaking and discolored from oil and rust.
Question is, how do I make this right to keep it nice for many years to come? What kind of paint do I use?
Regards,
Johan

As you can see I also have a challange with the paint on the window framing peeling off. Anya ideas about how to fix that?

I just used imron and brushed it on dries like a rock. Just really need to clean and sand and scrub. Let me know if you need any help. Also you would never know I used a brush. Next time I might do a little more work and smooth it all though.

I used bilgekote also, but I also replaced my boxes on the sides because I knew they were wet. I have done other boats also. Like it was said above: you need to clean it really good and sand and clean, then I just applied 2 coats of bilgekote.
