Don't have to swing a high pitch wheel, gets on plane a little better, less stress on propshaft, but less acceleration.
Mine planed fine, rode well worked very well all around. I wanted to try a left hand prop, it would lay over on its side a bit in flat water at wot

Well the 468 I was planning on putting in fell through. Ending up getting a scorching deal on a hp500 brand new 0hr motor, running a labbed 24b1 I was hitting 70 at close to 5200. I am having an ignition issue that I think has been there all along so I think maybe 71-72 in an absolute perfect world at 5400 which is on the topside of where the motor will stop making power. Very very happy with the performance of the boat in general. The shorty makes it ride alittle better in the chop and doesn't need much trim to add speed.

Have about 20 hours on the setup, I agree with lilred that the boat wants to lay over when it's flat out. Not terrible but I notice it now and never seemed to be there before.

i like the 136gears . yes you have to run a smaller prop . if you run a 23pitch with 150 gears at 36oo rpm.doing 40mph. now you run a 23 pitch with 136 gears at 40mph you are turning 3000rpm ,so 600rpm less with the 136. i did this test with my old motor. at mid range my boat is very fast!!! my son has a rxt with mods and at 40mph we race and i pulled rigth away from him ..his best is 74mph on gps not to bad for a 24 baja. i hope you guys test the shorty drive out???? my x is stock. i just added a few more pony to my motor.
