Default 2003 25' Outlaw W/496HO

I am sure this has been talked to death, but I haven't found what I am looking for on the Threads. So, here is my question.

I have a 2003 25' Outlaw with 496HO. Currently I have a 23P prop. Boat runs 68-69MPH at top speed. Can I change to a different prop and get more MPH. Has anyone tried to do this with this set up and had success?

I'd say you are running at the "top end" of the envelope with those numbers, that's haulin. It takes big power to run the 25/272 into the 70's consistantly.

I'm thinkin the prop MUST already be labbed and you're getting all 425HP/TQ applied very efficently. Either that or your reading those numbers off the wish-o-meter.

Sending that M+23 to Bbladdes prop shop is the best bang for the buck performance wise.

That's haulin' for that set-up. I had a 272 with 454/502 hybrid and I got low 60s with a 25p Mirage Plus. With the 23p Mirage Plus revs were peaking out exactly at 60. I would say run it and leave it alone, you have a solid set-up.

Not on GPS. I haven't done that yet. I will next time I take it out. But on the Gauge I have hit 68-69 @4800-5000RPM. I thought 68 was about typical for these boat and motor? The boat usaully cruises at 48-50MPH at 4000RPM.

Your speedometer is off. You aren't going that fast.

This make all your numbers and thoughts you or anyone else wrong.

need real numbers. I have seen 74mph (speedo meter) out of my 252, with a 23mriage, and a454 MAg...... it only did 60-63 (gps) normally.

get some real numbers then bump thread.

I have a 502 mag in my 25OL and my speedometer is spot on with my gps. My best was 67 with a light load. 23m+. If you want a mph more or two send your current prop to Bblades and have it labbed. Those guys have a lot of experience labbing props for Bajas.
