I just had my 20 hour service performed recently...they changed the engine oil, drive oil, power steering fluid, checked drive alignment, etc...for about $170...most of the money went towards shop labor...hope this helps

Hey there. If you contact Cindy up at Mercruiser customer service, she will inform you that the 20 hr service is no longer a mandatory service time for Merc engines and outdrives (really-that is what she said and provided me the documentation)!!! I still think the sooner the better when you have a new motor and outdrive but found it interesting after I already paid my 200.00!!!

No matter what Merc says, I would suggest pulling the drive at the end of each season to check alignment. If you continue to run with it misaligned it will get so bad that you'll eventually need a sledge hammer to get if off.
