prop calc.

i entered in all the data (i used 12 for the slip) and i came up with 57.9 this is right on the money per gps readings last summer.
how is slip calculated??
i would like to try different props to find the "right" one.
i know most all prop shops have prop exchange programs.

the 29 outlaw has a 150 gallon
fuel tank, at least my last two
have, brochure spec's also list
150 gallons.
I also very rarely fill mine up
either, but on rough weekends
it does improve the ride.
i feed 2 hp 500's, and if i do
fill it up that tank will run quite a
while, since on the normal weekends
it's pretty tough to run much over
65 and keep it in the water, until you
get past tantara, then it settles down.
our home base is right near the big easy,
the have college girls pumping gas, free ice,
and coozies, so we don't mind buying gas
down there.

JT - You are right, I have a 2002 model brochure from the St. Louis boat show last February, I just looked at it and it shows a 152 gallon fuel tank. I have only put gas in my boat once because I bought it in October. I filled it up at the Amoco station right before you cross the Grand Glaze bridge, it was reading 1/2 tank on the gauge and I put 53 gallons in it. That would explain why the gauge did not go to full, I thought the gauge may have been off, because my old boat was like that. When I got to 1/2 of a tank on the gauge of my old boat I filled it up, because I did not want to chance running out of gas. I let that happen one time and vowed to never let it happen again. The guy I bought the boat from told me it had a 125 gallon tank.
You are running twin 500hp's, I bet your boat hauls. My buddy has a 27 Fever with a single 500hp and his boat runs pretty good.
My wife and I have a small 1 bedroom condo at Heron Bay (right next to Shooters). I have not ventured very far past Tan Tara with the exception of snake cove. Have you been there? Kind of a neat little cove to go to once in a while.
I have seen the advertisements for the big easy, we need to head down that way this summer, how far past Tan Tara is it? I would also like to head down to big dicks halfway inn, I heard that place in pretty fun. I am always nervous about going down to that end of the lake just for the fact that I am not very familiar with it. I can see now that this will have to change.
We spend a lot of our time at Porto Cima cove, Dock Knockers, Salty Dog, Horny Toad and Backwater Jacks. Do you go to Porto Cima cove very much? I guess they are closing that cove to the public this coming spring. I wonder where everyone else will go? Do you know? I kind of got tired of going to party cove because of water patrol and all of the idiots, plus idling so far now. As you can tell I am pretty long winded on the computer. Its nice to talk to people that go down to the lake. Talk to you later. Eric

ther'e building a marina in porto cima cove,
and , yes i heard they were closing it.
The big easy, and pointe oasis (that's the
gas dock) are in the west arm of chimney
cove,(13 mile marker) it's the next big cove
west of porto cima cove.
Big dicks is 22 miles from tan tara, waters
plenty deep, it's a good time there.
Now back to what the last few post have been
about.
Anybody think a 22p bravo 1 four blade would
work?, sometimes big, single engine boats run
well with four blades.
I think the decrease in slip percentage
with the four blade would offset
the added drag of the extra blade,
carrying this kind of load at this speed range.
