Default Max RPM on 496 mag not ho

A couple of freinds of mine have 496 mag's, the dealer told them to turn them 5,000 if I'm not mistaken the rev limiter is at about 4850 and peak horsepower is at 4,600 does anyone know the facts?

Just wanna save buddies time and money if they've been misinformed

Here are the facts:
Max WOT RPM Range for the 496 MAG(375HP) is 4400-4800.
Rev Limiter should be set at about 4850.

Also, Here are the HP and Tourque Curves for the motor:

So if I am turning 4700 to 4750 RPM I should be good?

Assuming the 375hp version, you're in the perfect range for your engine. You want to be as close to the upper end of the range as possible. Look here:
