My first Baja was a 232 Isl w/7.4. Had alot of fun with that boat. 61 gps was best speed w/23p mirage. A little small for bigger water, but nice 80% of the time. I boat primarily on Mead, Havasu, Mohave, and the Pacific. The 232 made it to Catalina island a few times, although I was much more selective with the conditions.

I had a 232 Isl w/7.4L. It was good boat, I really enjoyed it. I saw similar performance as skygod did. I primarily ran on the inland lakes around the state, but ventured onto the Great Lakes a few times. I was very selective about the conditions, but it handled fine in rough water.

I have a 232 with the 7.4 and I love the boat. I'm in california and trailer to a lot of different lakes. I can go 60 1,2,3 ish depending on conditions, gas, people load etc.

I had a 232 with a 7.4, Eddie Marine exhaust system and K&N air filter. Best ever was 65 on the speedo (salt water) with a freshly labbed prop. She burned up THAT day in a boatel fire!!
Great boat considering it was a step up from a Donzi 16 Classic. I liked my 272 much better. The 232 had a tendency to porpoise on flat water.

Macklin : Prop configuration model, pitch, what has been done to it and who made the lab job??? 65 = great numbers if GPS...
Also, did you see a difference after installing K&N ?
Thanks

That was a long time ago JS. And definitely not GPS speeds. I can say that I was runnin' a Mirage, but can not remember the pitch. Had it labbed, actually blueprinted, locally. The K&N air filter made a big difference......very similar to the improvement you will see after putting a Vortech flame arrestor on a 502mag mpi.

Baja 232, We are running the same prop.
I am now considering going to a labded Mirage 25 (not plus)
Been told non plus mirage consumes less RPM.
Max rpm is 4525 on 4600 max recommended.
So 4525 - 350 rpm (going to 25") = 4175 RPM at wot
4175 + 300 rpm (lab finish on the 25") = 4475 RPM
Speed calculator says a 3 mph gain
