Default baja 272 speed

i have a 1996 baja 272, it has a 502mpi 415hp motor with stock prop, i am getting a reading of 65.2 on GPS, just wondering if this is how fast the boat is supposed to go?

I think that is probably about right. I have a friend with a 272 and 502, I think his best ever GPS was a little over 68...

Man,
You both are seeing some great speeds. The best I have seen with my 272 502 MPI has been 63.7 MPG on GPS. I was a little heavy, however, you guys are getting great speed, especially 68 stock with a 272 that boat most have come out of the mold perfect. I have a friend with a 272 and the 496 HO and that is the best he has seen, 68 GPS!

Very best speed I ever got from the 2000 model we had with 502 Mag was 64 on GPS.

Great boat, rides and handles very nice and good size to trailer also.

They will go fast if you want them to, MillerLite on here has one with a procharger running low 80's.

But you are right where you should be.

What slows Luv-N-It down is all that fancy Chit in his cuddy along with the Purple paint!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My 1997 272, 502 mag efi was 64mph in stock form. I added a stern jack and stainless marine exhaust and that took it to 68mph. At that point I added the Procharger with about 5-6 lbs of boost and that took me to 80-82mph.

Dock, LMAO However, I think you have it wrong. What slows me down is all that extra red paint peeling of the red Duramax cause I can't keep my foot out of it while towing, hence creating more drag for the 272 on the water

Dude, sometime soon I'm coming down to see the lake you call home and we are going to have to hang out on the water. I'll bring a set of chains with me so we can play tug a war in the parking lot with the trucks You'll get me on the water, but we'll have to see what happens land side

By the way grxjoe, I have an 1996 272 25th anniversary Baja w/the 502 Mag MPI. With all the fancy stuff inside

Thanks for always being a good sport!

Give me a heads up that you are coming so we can come and meet you if the truck breaks down on the way. Those are some pretty BIG hills in West Virginia.
