Post Swim platforms

Any ideas on a swim platform for a 212 Islander. So far Ive had a quote from extreme marine but at $1750.00 it seems a little high. Also does the open design work better in rough water. Has anyone heard about any other manufacturer of aluminum or fibre glass platforms.

Am I missing something here. The Islander series has integral swim platforms on them; why would you want to add another one?

The islander does have a moulded platform but it is not very deep. I want to extend out 2 feet so the kids can have more room and it will cover the drive so to speak. I got a price from Aluminum Marine supply for about $1550.00 so that is better.
