You're using "Racing" with Gen3. You planning on something? or simply run out of iterations?

Charlie Jr, I truly thank you for the great information!!!! I am having my buddy take digital pics of the 24 this weekend. So from the sound of the hull number it is defently second generation?????? No chance you guys built this one? Maybe the pics will help to define it for you.

Thanks again

Charlie, when were the first generation built? From what year through mid 79? Also, I have heard the 24 hull was a Cigeratte hull. Deck as well? Was the mold purchased from Don A??

I'm referring to:
First Generation under the name Banana Boat Co
Second Generation was Banana Boat Ltd
Third Generation as the BANANA RACING TEAM INC. MIC: NUQ

Does the use of the word "Racing" have any meaning? Are we going to see the return of Banana Boats to the racing circuits? or did you simply run out of good names to use?

No offense intended.

I don't want to speak for the McCarthy family, but I think they take the word "racing" seriously...

None taken!! I thought you were just giving me a hard time because this has been taking so long to get going again...LOL!! My father and I are working hard to make this something Don himself would be proud of!!

Yes there will definitely be racing in the future for Banana Racing Team Inc.

If you search threads by Top banana, Chatim, Brownie, Lucky Strike, (I think) you will find alot of who's who posts, lots of history, lots of pics.

The first Banana molds were purchased from Don Aronow in the mid 70s, boats were made using Cigarette lay up schedules and Banana employees were trained at the Cigarette factory.

There is more to this story/friendship between Charlie Sr. and D.A. but that is the boat connection in a nutshell.
You can do a search to see lots of old pics and stories here on OSO

The Banana deck was changed by Charlie Sr. to a diamond shape (from horizontal) and the Cig 24 was a sit down and the Banana is stand up bolsters.

I should also point out that the 2nd generation boats were not built by the McCarthy's, so understandably, they tend to distance themselves from that time frame.

I'm going to have to take over West Coast PR and Marketing for Banana Racing Team, as well as drive the factory boat at West Coast Races.
