e tecs are very user friendly however they do not put out the hp like a merc... in fact Mike Spirito had a 300 I came very close to buying last year... that would have been very nice on my black Banana.....

Fully agreed
Not a lot of after market support / parts easily available for the olies either.

I love that black boat and actually had it as my screen saver for a bit

Very nice machine.

I have like 20 pictures of it from 10 years ago.

How are the engines running? 1989 vintage if I remember right.

As for price, it all depends on how fast you want to move it.
One motor we ended up replacing, but the other one still run's fantastic. I want to move it fairly fast...

Yes, we have decided to sell. I'm considering eBay but would rather put it somewhere where they know exactly what I have and how nice it is.

Okay. So it's official. I am selling this boat. I love it... and it was a hard decision as this WAS our honeymoon. I bought it on eBay, didn't even own a truck and flew from Oregon to CT and drove it home. The next day we took it out to a lake and had an absolute blast. People were lined up on the docks to watch it take off... and to this day we get the same reaction. I can't bear to watch it just sit - and I know it needs someone who can love it as much as we do...
I struggling with eBaying it... or just listing it here in the classifieds. I'll decide by Friday. If anyone else wants any details to move it by mouth, my number is 360-431-4881 and my name is Kellie.

Scarab63, you connect the dots pretty well.... I have been talking to Charlie and hopefully I can work the numbers. I found a trailer for it yesterday brand new someone purchased this year and used once, called a local marine company andI am debating between the 250 or the 300xs.... I would like one fast 24 to run at Long Island next year. Found a 100 gallon tank too... just to add fuel so I can make it around the island wtihout stopping. Have a 21" prota bracket I bought for my last Banana which should give it plenty of power and good high end speed..... Been driving my sonic with the 8.2 put 8 hours on it and spent 650 if fuel...Boy do I miss my old outboard..... Hey if you are willing to donate to the SP Banana fund.. .tax dedcutable of course, I would be greatful.
