Heatbuzz as you can see while the Northeast was dealing with that blizzard a couple of weeks ago, my son and I were deeply involved into research and development in the wilds of Florida.
The cockpit on my son's 24, after he opened up, is almost as long as my 28's cockpit.....that is one improvement that was needed on the 24's.
Any input pro or con from the banana bunch???

These are old school....bolsters are available and have been used in these boats, but the whole concept is about old school, seasoned, classic, timeless designs.
Sort of like the newer version of the old Hacker and Chris Craft runabouts.

Charlie, I notice that you called it "my boat." Are you holding out on the fact that there was a 28 foot Banana made? But besides that I think I would love to have that extra room in mine. Looks great, I can't wait to see what else is in store.

Yeah, some of these paint jobs are something else. I must admit I'm mildly curious how a 20' to 24' built using epoxy technology would perform. We already know how the entire range, 20' to 28', built with DA's layup does, and although I always thought they were a tad on the heavy side, that tradeoff served us well in the rough.
Haven't you been surprised how little things have changed with instrumentation? Other than fancy anodized bezels, the cockpits look like a '60s vintage 707. Why hasn't anyone introduced an integrated "avionics" cockpit and gotten away from all this point-to-point wiring? Seems like a single FMS-style setup using bus technology would be a big improvement.

CEVERT,
I have always asked that question as well. Except for composites, aircraft have changed little over the years, however avionics are light years ahead of where they were just 20 years ago.
Surprizing that boats havent done the same?
TopBanana,
Yes, I do have a bunch of comments, unfortuneately I left them on the computer I was working on when I was in training in Florida. That was the packet I was talking about that I put together regarding the 24 Banana...
I'm going down in 2 weeks, I will print it then and send it to you and your son.
Chatim,
What happened to that guy? He vanished?
