Sunkin Ejection Stories

We tracked daily post counts and were pleased that they equalled other sites and on specific weekdays actually surpassed OSO.
( subsequent to all that I have learned that this is not the measure of an active site, but rather CLICK THROUGHS is how traffic is measured)

Post Count is just that. How many posts. It does reflect how much your members use the board, but on serious, 35% of the total posts are in 2 threads, both post hor threads that mean nothing about the boards use, as its unlikely that the people posting on them are paying any attention to the advertisers.

post counts and click throughs are 2 totally different items. Site traffic is measured in many ways. Click throughs, is simply how many times an advertisers link is clicked on. Most major sites are not even using it anymore, as the percent has dropped so low, as to be almost useless. It used to be something like 5%. now its less than .2% When it was high, the most important part of it was doing the math, of how many clicks equaled how many sales the advertiser got. a million clicks and no sales is useless compared to 10 clicks and 2 sales. Even Alexa which as I said is easy to "adjust" will give you better info on the site traffic than click throughs will.

I referred to a site called COMPETE a few times.

I just dont like the way it was handled...OSO Mods and buddies moving threads around, deleting threads at will, threatning people. I think Mods should be above these type of things.Non-boating Idiots starting crap..People with secret agendas....Just, Overall, the way it's been handled....
If guys like Craig & Nick had posted from the start and kept it civil things would have gone alot smoother.
Ahhh...The "Big" lake....I'm tryin !!!!!!

104713 views on 8 threads as of 5 minutes ago.
All within 7 weeks.
Someone must be interested in the topic.
It becomes uncivil when the topic gets sidetracked with comments from those that dont understand the discussion.

I'd estimate that Jay probably spends more time in choppers taking pics of boats, and riding in boats, than many do here that actually own boats. Take his journey with Bobthebuilder........
From a boat owner's perspective, I'd prefer Jay's boating budget to my own Off to polish the hull and prepare to splash

Well...Non-boater= Jayboat. One of the worst on these threads...
This is why these threads get uncivil.
You dont know what you are talking about and should stay quiet.
Jay put more time and effort into the entertainment of members at SOS than Chris Sunkin ever did.
He also put more personal risk money up to do so.
Jay covered 24 events in 2009 . He travelled at his own expense to very many out of town events.
All the photographers did.
Nobody on either SOS or OSO understands the math that goes along with the photography topic more than me. Ask them all.
It is not pretty for the return on travel costs and effort.
The cost to Chris Sunkin personally to start and maintain SOS was next to nothing as it turns out.
The numbers that Sunkin has floated out there have been confirmed as absolutely false.
Jays efforts behind the scenes are only known and understood by a few, including a lot of work for the future that now wont transpire.
Do you all enjoy Steve 1 thread ??
Thank Jay.
