I've seen that boat along time ago for sale, can't remember where or when but I remember that story about the partial submersion. All things aside though, I agree with the last posts. The boat owner is not a trailer builder. The trailer builder had the boat, could of and should of had it weighed before he even began to build the trailer. Absolutly should have after bending 2 axles in his own yard. That trailer under that boat is laughable. It looks like a yard trailer and I doubt seriously if that rig ever left his yard. I wouldn't pull that down the road let alone across the country. Sounds like the boat owner was looking for a cheap trailer to haul the cheap boat he just purchased and now is realizing he got what he paid for. His story is short on alot of facts. He had the boat shipped to him from someplace and I know that during that process he would have been told the actual weight of the boat he had to pay to get shipped. The trailer builers is an idiot for submitting a bid to build a trailer without knowing the actual weight and size. Wouldn't hiring a boat hauler with a big rig been a better idea? Who the he77 is gonna haul that thing around anyway. The early post was right though "He shoulda went to Myco"

I do agree that when you hire the "professionals" that we all expect to get "Professional results." Lets be realistic though in this world we live in, there are as many Horror stories as great results. My main point is whatever deal any of us make, we are responsible for the details of the contract and making sure we get what we paid for. Now let's pay for the Trailer half up front. Then pay for it in full before inspection. NO WAY I would ever do that without seeing the finished trailer and being there in person. Fireboat you are probably right. If your buying a cheap, broken down boat for 20K your probably not spending another 20K on the trailer that was needed. American probably cut every corner to built it cheap and got caught, but they had his money already. Not good business either way.

As with rchevelle71, Sounds like you are trying to unload this on a new buyer. Good luck with that!

Willy lacks integrity, and needs to be put out of business. If you are looking to get a trailer built for a boat make sure you deal with a quality company like Myco. You might pay more,.....but at least your boat and trailer will make it home in one piece! All American Trailer Company is the Kmart of the trailer manufacturing industry. You will never see a professional ball player shopping for his shoes of choice at Kmart,.....so don't be the next victim to buy a trailer from a 100% Kmart trailer company.

there are a lot of trailer manufacturers out there
who make a very good and well respected product and known in the boating industry
quality and better construction cost more...... no escaping that
plain and simple
when you contract someone to build something for you
you tell them it needs to carry 5T it need to be engineered for that
you cant expect it to carry 10T without problems
you got and paid what you asked for

I would suggest looking at Manning & Eagle as options along with Myco.
