I've pretty much given up on buying used parts, short of props.. Very rarely do you get what you expected, last thing I bought out of the swap shop was a sea strainer that had a pin-hole crack when I pressure tested it. Same situation, bought it and it sat in a box for a year until I was ready to install it. At that point I couldn't even remember who I bought it from and I would make a pretty good bet that was the reason they sold it, sometimes you just have to learn the hard way.

You bought them and didnt check them out for 6 months? Sounds like the guy sold them in good faith.
To be honest with you if I sold something and 6 months later you called me I would hang up on you. How do I know what you did with it after it left my possesion?

SM told my brother that they intentionally make the outside of the manifold thinner than the inside so they leak on the outside first... this way you see the leak and pull them before screwing up an engine. The reason he asked is where he lived in the keys at the time had really 'hot' water and he went through two sets over a few years time and they always leaked on the outside first.
So, with that said, it seems strange as hell that they leaked into your engine but look fine on the outside.

Say he checks them out the next day instead of 6 months later and they're defective...then the deal is no good?
Come on...if the seller didn't check the parts before selling then he should state that the parts are buyer beware since he has no idea as to their condition. I wouldn't and haven't sold defective parts and most here would do the same.
