We purchased our flat deack because it has a 9'6" beam. We loved the room and the performance of the boat. Ours is not as plush as the new boats because it is a 1993 43' Flat Deck.
But we wanted to get iback nto the powerboat market and out of our 31 Searay SS. This boat was in great shape and very little hours. We called the the owners of Black Thunder Factory and they actually knew the history of the entire boat. They then began inviting us on all the poker runs and parties that other Black Thunder owners had. The wife said it was like a family. That was almost 4 years ago and we have averaged over 100 hours a season and have loved it ever sense.

We first were shown a BT way back before the step bottom. There was, and in my opinion only one other still, no boat with the beam, headroom, cabin appointments, and speed of a fully loaded BT. Bob, owner of BT, and the others at the factory are extremely helpful and will do all possible to help.
If you're looking, all BT owners will help with anything we can do.

I came from an Active Thunder which has a great cabin but we were looking for more, after 5 years. Did not want to go to a full blown cruiser and there was no other boat that had all the goodies. Wanted a boat that could be self suffecient for a weekend. The spped is important so we can get to where we need to be with hours, cruise 50mph, very good for a boat of this size. This was our first season with ours and enjoyed it very much.

Was in the Monopoly (sp) 46 this weekend. I am 6 3 and still had headroom. Very well appointed cabin.

We looked for a couple of years and at a lot of boats we have had open bows and cruisers we liked our cruiser but we also wanted a go fast boat and the BT fit the bill. We can spend the weekend in it and still run 80+.

Head room in the cabin, sit up in bed and NOT hit your head, heat and AC to extend the season, gen set to stay out @ night in the summer, good cruise and top end speed, and lots of room.

my wife at that time said SEA RAY i said NO WAY we had a 38 scarab kv so we compromised and ended up Buying a BT and calling the boat "Our Compromise"
We bought our 43 BT SC new in late 98 (was registered as a 99)
Loved the boat and even talked about building a flat deck to race at one point
Terry Sobo of Nor Tech fame was sales manager at the time and was great to deal with
I loved my boat so much i became a dealer for BT for a few years
The boat is great for the right type of owner
At the time we were going across lake michigan every three weeks to Chicago or Milwaukee just for fun gas was cheap, economy was good and I had some money. Now days at least gas is cheap again
after the BT I went back to a Cigarette Top Gun because we no longer needed th ever night accommodations
Current wife is talking about a used BT at this point but financially our 16 Donzi is going to have to keeps us happy for a while LOL
