Checkmates are great boats. They are all hand layed glass. As long as you treat the boat with care it will take care of you. There are many late 80's 251's running around that look almost brand new. The older 251 have a narrower beamer than the newer models and are actually one of Checks faster hulls. They have a timeless look and I wouldn't hestitate to own one. Checkmate builds a hell of a lot of boat for the money. Any specific questions? Hope this helps

That is going to be an excellent boat. Used boats are a hard sell right now. I would not pay that much unless the boat is in mint condition with low hrs. I would bet you could get that boat for about 15 g. If it is mint, I mean mint I might pay a little more. Where is the boat located?? I would think the boat will run in the mid 60's with that power.

very sharp in my opinion.....a little worried a boat of that age could be a lot of engine work/upkeep ( im a go to the mechanic kind of guy)....

Looks nice. Judging by your screen name I thought you might be from Chicago. Let me guess you boat on the chain. IF you haven't checked boattraderonline is a good site. That motor should be ok depending on previous usage. 454 mag is a solid package.
