if you lived on the water, and have a ski lift to play with it, it woul dbe fun... but a bigger motor on there.. and make it a death trap

Very cool.
Very rare w/a cult following.
A 50Hp 2 banger OMC w/trim would make that thing a hoot to drive! A 70 3 banger would too but too heavy for that small of hull.

I had a 50 on this 13' Whaler. Think what'd do on that Checkmate.
BTW, 48.6 on the Whaler.

I have a buddy that restored one of these and put a 150 Black Max on it. Had to put about 80 pounds of ballast in the nose to get it on plane, But once it was up there, it was a riot to drive!!!!
