Checkmate convincer 283
#2
The twin engine ones are very tight in the engine compartment. Check the floor for rot, other than that just check the mechanicals. They are solid boats, the 283 is the perfect size and with a high powered single they rip! What boat are you checking out, nothing worse than driving far and being disappointed in the boat.

This is it. Looks really clean. Price is a little high, but there might be a little room if I drive all that way from Texas.

I am going to look at that boat as well. I like it a lot. I currently have a 95 283 single 525sc and it has been a great boat. I would like a twin engine boat and the black one is very nice.

I have one also for sale, great size boat and they are very timeless - always turning heads.

My '99 with twin EFI 454 Mags has been a great boat for me. I'll be moving up about 5' in size at some point, but not sure when. Going to enjoy it some more for now.

That's about all the room there is. I removed stock manifolds on a 283 with twins and replaced with Stainless Marine. That wasn't a fun job, as a matter of fact you can still see some of my blood under the hatch.
