Default 270 Convincor

Wondering how well a 270 Convincor will ride in rough water and also what could a guy expect for top speed out of a 502 mag MPI? Are the cockpit and cuddy of decent size?
Thanks RB

Is it closed or open bow? Ride is very good in moderate chop, big swells is where the length hurts the ride. It is a big 25' boat. Lots of freeboard and cockpit and cabin size are good for a 25' boat. Expect 64-65 everyday GPS full of gas and 4 people. I got my 253 to 69.3 GPS empty downriver with a good chop in fall that was best ever and only once. These boats are very fussy about weight distribution and ride way better with 2 than 4 people. If you have a lot of weight in it u will need to use some tab to control porpoise between 30 - 38 mph. With two people you can control it with just the trim.

You might want to consider a 283 or 300 as well. More room in the cockpit and cabin and a better ride for about the same money. Hp500 will get you mid to upper 60s.

Thanks for info. It is a closed bow. I am assuming that a 253 and a 270 are the same boat but different years? The boat I am looking at has tabs on it so I guess thats good.
thanks RB

Yes, the 259 replaced the 253 and had a different dash layout and I believe was a hair wider. The 259 became the 270 when they started counting the swim platform in the length.

I owned a 2000 259 Convincor for 7 years, great boat. Purchased the boat new from a local dealer who was sitting on it for a few years. If you upgrade the tabs, power and steering that boat can handle some serious water with velocity, impressive!.
