Hydromotive 23 Q4 prop works best on my 253 with stock 502 415hp. Boat just wanted to launch with a bravo one four blade when you hit a wave, when you are running hard trimmed and no tabs down that is. My hydromotive is faster, safer, and does everything better than all the props I tried. I tried mirage plus, bravo ones, hydromotives and all different pitches in those. I run 67 gps top end, cruising you always have to run your tabs in this hull. 465hp and the right hydromotive prop labbed should get you to 70 IMO. I can squeek by my uncles 25 outlaw with the same engine as me, he runs a labbed 23 mirage plus. You made the right choice just spend time dialing it in.

Yes you would. The hydromotives come 15.5" diameter and mine has been cut down to 15" and doesnt have a diffuser ring, I turn that 5000. So I would try to find a 24 hydromotive and see where your rpms are at, if they are low, hydromotive or bblades can cut the diameter and lab it for more rpms.

I have many friends with 253's and all of them have 502 mpi's (415 hp)...all of them run 68-69mph with 24 pitch bravos right at rev limiter... one friend did headers and is now 71 mph...and after testing props, he is using a 26 hydromotive
hope this helps
