Has anyone ever removed the two large flotation corners in the engine compartment on a 1986 251 Convinsor ? I noticed on several later year models these are removed giving a great deal of extra room in the engine compartment. I had heard they were for extra flotation with the Big Block, but does anyone know ?

Great all around boat and awsome cuddy..had several over the years.The flotation you are talking about never had that in mine all had big blocks.The older 25s 86 up did have a degree change in the hull and chines.I think the older 25s are a nicer hull(86 up)personal preferance.
The last one I had was a 90 25'.If you have questions you can call the plant In Bucyrus OH and talk to Mike Coombs (Bills son)In parts(loves to talk Boats)and would give you the inside on what you can do with those.
